This document is all text-based due to platform limitations. What would ordinarily have been explained using charts and visual aids has been communicated in prose. Clarity wasn't sacrificed for brevity.

How it all started

It all started with a 10ml decant of Dior Homme Intense gifted to me by a friend in the early weeks of February. The last thing I remember after wearing it out to a cinema night was decanting it into nine 1ml portions.

A crowd that slowly received mass produced fragrances were suddenly doing the chasing. The sell out was followed by a quiet — until Valentine's Day, when the air sang Dior Homme. It had been kept for an occasion that warranted it.

Anyone who is familiar with the Nigerian market won't find this surprising. Nigeria is an intensely occasion-driven society where spending is strongly tied to events and ceremonies, and exclusive, status signalling and impression-driving products are not only highly sought after, they are quietly reserved for special occasions that demand them.

The Gap That Exists

Perfumes — designer and niche — despite their all-round fit as status symbols, a form of self expression, an immediate impression-making product that leaves a lingering memory, and a general elevation of elegance, are strikingly absent from both the occasion budget and the things quietly reserved for special moments.

Access has also remained highly concentrated despite strong aspiration for this category from the larger market.

Reasons for the Gap

‎‎The absence and concentration is explained by four reasons

High prices : The average cost of these fragrances often runs into hundreds of dollars per bottle, placing them out of reach for over 70% of the Nigerian consumer market.
No alternatives: There is no in-house testing, no dedicated platform to discover or access them, and a near total absence of perfumes — designer and niche — sized and priced for the larger market. The full bottle remains the only option; one out of sync with a market that has fractionalized virtually everything else to increase accessibility.
Poor narrative: The only existing frame for fractionalizing is the universal "sampling" narrative, one intrinsically out of sync with this market.
Blind buy risk: The lack of alternatives has made most perfume purchases in Nigeria essentially blind-buys, an expensive risk the few can absorb and a gamble the majority are either ineligible to partake in or simply avoid.

FoSaSO range

‎is built around real usage patterns:

‎3ml — For the casual party or event-goer. Roughly 55 sprays. Lasts about 18 occasions.
5ml — For the more frequent party or event-goer. Roughly 90 sprays. Lasts about 30 occasions.
10ml — For sampling, daily wear and gifting. Roughly 190 sprays. Lasts about 60 occasions.

Whether the occasion is formal, a job interview, a dinner ; informal, a party, a celebration, a tour ; or intimate, a date, a couple hangout , FoSaSO offers a scent for every occasion. These sizes also double as sampling, eliminating the blind buy risk and the cost that comes with it.

Target Occasions And Opportunity

Weddings: Of the roughly 2 million marriages in Nigeria per year, approximately 60% of couples generally undergo multiple occasions — a traditional wedding, a white wedding, a civil registry marriage. All are Occasions a high-end fragrance would be gladly received.
Graduations: Nigeria graduates approximately 600,000 students each year. Every one of them moves through a predictable sequence of three guaranteed occasions in close succession at the end of their academic life — dinner nights, graduation ceremonies, nights out. These are moments where great effort goes into impression and appearance.
Romantic dates: Date nights, couple hangouts, blind dates; everyone knows how hard "you smell amazing" hits on these occasions. First impressions matter.
The Regulars: The average individual attends between 10 and 20 major events per year. All avenues to standout.
Fragrance enthusiasts: represents another distinct segment of consumers driven by curiosity and compulsion. Previously lack of alternatives simply killed this hobby or made it extemely expensive due to the full bottle model.
‎Gifters: The Nigerian gifting culture is strong. Fragrance is aspirationally popular as a gift. It slots naturally into gift sets — between friends celebrating occasions, and small businesses appreciating customers.

‎Unit Economics

The model is simple. A full bottle fractionalized into 3ml, 5ml, and 10ml units — or any mix of the three — each sold at a 20% margin.

‎‎Bottle acquisition cost: $200

‎Cost per ml: $2

‎Units per bottle: 20 units.

‎Total packaging cost: $10‎ — $0.50 per unit (fixed across all sizes)

‎Margin: 20% — $2 per unit

‎Retail price for 5ml: $12.50.

‎Retail price formula: (cost per ml × volume × margin multiplier) + packaging cost

‎Total costs: $210

Profit for every $200 bottle: $40.

Risk Mitigation.

‎To mitigate against the known risk of stale inventory, FoSaSO launches with an initial stock of designer and niche fragrances with proven demand behind them; this inventory stock grows in scale and variety as the business scales. Any demand for a fragrance outside of this stock follows the reservation model. A customer creates demand by joining a waitlist, that demand then triggers active marketing to fill the remaining slots. Once sufficient demand is confirmed, a bottle is acquired and decanted to order. With an infinite fragrance catalogue and scarce resources, this keeps inventory proportionate to the demand behind it and ensures capital is deployed most efficiently.

Marketing

Product is strongly tied to occasions and the aspirational needs of the customer. Initial awareness is raised and customers are acquired through direct, targeted outreach across four channels.

Word of Mouth — ‎As the first customer of FoSaSO, every compliment received is an opportunity to market FoSaSO directly, with the product already speaking for itself.
Event Targeting — occasions when the consumer would be most receptive, owing to the occasion-driven nature of the market, are tracked and engaged directly. Graduation calendars, upcoming weddings, and public posts of personal events are monitored, with outreach made directly to individuals and groups.
Social Media Engagement — raising awareness within communities already primed for the product on social media platforms e.g Fragrance communities. Engaging posts asking for decants, complaints about the lack of them.
Refer and Earn — Every successful referral earns the customer 5% of the profit made on that sale, paid directly in cash for amounts above ₦500 and in airtime rewards for amounts below.

Distribution

‎Direct orders are couriered in customized FoSaSO boxes, shrink-wrapped to ensure authenticity.
‎Delivery cost is the biggest operational challenge in this model. To keep it lean, orders are batched and dispatched on a fixed weekly schedule rather than individually. Immediate delivery is available at an additional cost.

3 YEAR TARGET:

The target is 10,000 sales by year three, which would demand 500 bottles (100ml) sold and generating about $40,000 in revenue.

Token structure and Holder Rights:

Supply : 1000 tokens, fixed.

900 tokens available for public sale at $1 each — $900 raised.

100 tokens for builder equity — 10% equity

‎Token value proposition: Each token represents direct equity in FoSaSO.

Token price is determined by business performance across two phases. Financial statements are released every six months so holders can track performance, anticipate value, and make informed decisions on whether to hold or exit.

‎Phase 1 — Recoupment Period.

‎60% of annual profit is distributed to holders in "Firma", pro-rata. 40% is reinvested into the business. A downward adjusting floor starting at $1 per token is maintained during this period. The floor adjusts by the amount already distributed per token — if $0.50 has been distributed, the floor moves to $0.50. Any token listed at or below the current floor is prioritized, fulfilled with available funds, and burnt. Once cumulative distributions equal $1 per token, which means initial investment has been fully recouped, the floor is then lifted.

‎Phase 2 — Free Float.

‎Once the floor is lifted, 60% of annual profit is redirected to purchase XEC on the open market. The total XEC bought is divided by tokens in circulation to determine the token price, and an order is placed on Agora.cash accordingly to ensure the token remains liquid at that price point. All tokens bought back are burnt, reducing supply. Subsequently, new profit is added to the existing liquidity pool, divided by remaining supply, and the price is adjusted accordingly.

‎Downside Risk Management: In the unlikely event the business fails or is forced to close before the initial investment has been returned to holders, FoSaSO guarantees a repurchase of all tokens at $1 over the 12 months following closure. Assets are sold and proceeds are applied entirely toward repayment. Where proceeds fall short of $1 per token, a personal guarantee covers the shortfall. Where proceeds exceed what is required to return $1 per token to all holders( due to reinvestment in asset) , the surplus is distributed pro-rata.

‎Note: This protection is valid only until the initial $1 per token has been returned to all holders through cumulative distributions. Once that threshold is met, the protection expires and the token moves to free-float, trading purely on business performance.

Conclusion.

‎FoSaSO is not a speculative or zero-sum token. Buying is owning equity in a real, inventory-backed fragrance business. Its value is driven entirely by the real-world performance of the business behind it.
