What makes eCash (XEC) more evolutionary is its hybrid design and its ability to adapt and scale without breaking the Bitcoin foundation. This opens the door to much larger blocks (even gigabytes or terabytes in the future) without sacrificing usability.
3. Flexibility and updates without contentious hard forks Thanks to Avalanche, the network can implement dynamic changes (dynamic fees, adaptive block sizes, etc.) more seamlessly. Roadmap focused on subnets (permissionless sub-networks): these allow for the addition of optional features (EVM for smart contracts/DeFi, zero-knowledge proofs for privacy, etc.) without altering the main chain. More adaptable governance and protocol funding (a portion of block rewards goes toward development and stakers).
4. User experience and modern utility Extremely low fees (fractions of a cent). eTokens** with Postage Protocol → "gasless" tokens (fees can be paid using the token itself). Native staking rewards for Avalanche nodes (with an accessible minimum requirement). Integrated Chronik indexer; support for tokens, NFTs, and native DeFi. Clear goal of scaling to millions of transactions per second for planet-scale payments.
In summary: DigiByte evolves hardware and mining. eCash evolves consensus and user experience, maintaining Bitcoin's roots while adding layers that enable instant finality, enhanced security, and true extensibility (subnets, DeFi, privacy, etc.). That is what makes it more "evolutionary": it goes beyond simply improving classic PoW, combining it instead with next-generation consensus technology to overcome the historical limitations of Bitcoin-style blockchains.
