Creatures condemned to the ceaseless pursuit of Hegemony
Amidst dense shadows and open clearings, certain beings with supple bodies and cold gazes glide silently, claiming territory through calculated movements. When space grows tight or food becomes scarce, they do not hesitate to confront their own kind: the strong devour the weak, eliminate rivals of their own lineage, and expand their dominion at the expense of those who once shared the same ground. Thus, they maintain the balance of their world—controlling populations and ensuring that only the fit thrive—while silent invasions displace the original inhabitants without the need for formal proclamations.
Driven by a similar logic, other beings—upright and clamorous—draw borders with documents and walls, compete for resources using elaborate strategies, and, when pressure mounts, turn against one another: they absorb foreign territories, displace their own kind, and consolidate power by eliminating or subjugating those who stand in their way. Though vastly different in form, both groups act upon the same deep-seated impulse to dominate space, preserve their lineage, and expand at the expense of their own kind, revealing an unsettling resemblance in how survival transforms into conquest.
