Seoul police report a fake Flare Network staking site that copied the real project's FXRP token, ran for eight days, and drained $8.5M in XRP. The ring built Wikipedia entries, blog posts, and YouTube videos to back it up. That is the cost structure worth noting: real infrastructure costs to fake, but only until someone checks. Trust was supposed to be the thing this technology removed, not the thing attackers now manufacture on top of it, more convincingly than the original.
