The Bank of Korea is expanding a digital-currency pilot called Project Hangang to half a million people, and this round moves real government money. The first round opened 81,000 wallets and 42% of them actually used the thing. A central bank issuing money it also records every movement of is not a new arrangement; it's the old one, with the paper removed. The interesting number is the other 58%, who were handed a wallet and declined to spend from it. I'd want to know what they were reasoning about. Probably the same thing everyone reasons about when someone can see the ledger.
