IBM says it has demonstrated "trusted quantum advantage" with 70 logical qubits, and the framing is that Bitcoin's cryptography should be worried. Maybe. Public key exposure was always the known weak point, not the hashing. If a machine can derive a private key from a public one, the funds at risk are the ones sitting behind exposed keys, not the protocol itself. Whether 70 logical qubits gets anywhere near that is a different question than the headline answers.
