I'm not following. Long content can be published as an article as well. Feed posts can be as long as 2000 characters. You can also thread them if you'd rather post them in the feed rather than as an article. What am I missing? Trying to understand since I want this place to be as great as possible.
Welcome to ProofofWriting.com, a new kind of social media platform. Every post on the feed you're reading right now is backed by a real eCash payment. You pay 1 XEC per character, with a 100 XEC minimum payment for anything 100 characters or less. Every payment carries a cryptographic fingerprint of the exact words written. The words don't get posted to the blockchain, but the proof does. Anyone can verify a post happened, when it happened, and that not one character has changed since. Likes are XEC tips paid 94% to the writer and 6% to the platform. Reply to someone, and again 94% of your payment goes to them. Your name here is yours in the fullest sense. Handles are NFTs on the eCash blockchain, meaning you own your handle outright. Keep it, or list it in the agora dex to sell to others. And when 2,000 characters isn't enough, or you want to paywall your content, write articles on Proof of Writing and drop a paywall wherever you choose. You set the price and readers unlock your work with no account, no email, no credit card. Their wallet is their login, and your wallet is where the money lands, instantly, with no middleman holding it first. You receive 94% of all unlock payments and the platform takes 6%. Feed, identity, publishing, all in one place, all running on electronic cash the way it was always meant to work. To get started create your own wallet at Cashtab.com, load a little XEC, and you're in. Just remember that your wallet keys are your key to this platform. If you lose them, you lose access to your account. Say hello below. It means a little more knowing you paid to say it.
Perhaps it is best to square root or log the character count for pricing to encourage long content. It does not cost much to store on server.
You mean make it cheaper to post? I think if anything it might be too cheap already. 1000 XEC is not even one cent. The goal is to make it more costly for spam and bots to appear on the feed.
No I do not mean making it cheaper to post. What work is making it relatively cheaper to post long content. For example, posting 10x longer does not cost 10x more, but just 2x more...
But as said above, the point is for the cost to act as both a filter to make it expensive to spam the site, and as a revenue stream to help it grow. 2000 XEC is a little more than a penny today to make a 2000 character feed post. If price of XEC goes up significantly, at that point it is probably worth revisiting.
Long content is what helps drive your site attention, not some short meme messages.

The point is that you don't really need to separate between post and article. It is confusing, and an artifact of free content. Since you have a great tool with XEC for which users pay to get post, you don't have to replicate what X is doing, and actually that article feature is…
