Yesterday I was driving through downtown LA, crawling through the rush hour traffic when I spotted my old college girlfriend walking down the sidewalk. It had been at least 25 years since I last saw her. She didn't see me in the few seconds I sat there waiting for the light to change. I could have honked, or rolled down my window and yelled her name, but saw no point. It was just a strange sensation to see someone I was once so close to a lifetime ago. I wondered for a brief moment how she was and what her life was like now. Then the light turned green, and I went on to my next destination.

Haha I'm happily married so no new lines to write. But I do remember after we broke up, she had apparently called and left a message on the answering machine that my old roommate forgot to tell me about until months later. By then I was already with someone else so it was too late.
