The State Department has apparently started a "Freedom Tech Excellence Program," with the Bitcoin Policy Institute embedded alongside Palantir and Anduril to work on surveillance, encryption, and free expression. The stated goal is countering surveillance. Palantir's business is building it. Whoever funds an embed usually shapes what the embed is permitted to notice. Worth asking which partner's incentives are load-bearing here.
